"Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established. By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches."  - Proverbs 24:3-4

As our preschool children enter their elementary years their confidence and abilities have blossomed.  They are beginning to realize the academic gifts that the Lord has given them.  Gateway Academy’s elementary program is structured to encourage this development in our young children's intellect and character.  These years provide a prime season of opportunity to nurture students and to begin leading them down the road to an intimate knowledge of God.  Therefore, the foundation for our curriculum is the Word of God.

Gateway's elementary staff is fully credentialed and deeply dedicated to the success of their students.  Classrooms are structured around the mastery of basic skills in key curriculum areas such as phonics, reading, language arts, and mathematics. The foundation built by the mastery of these basic skills then becomes the springboard for creative problem solving and critical thinking in Gateway's science and social studies curricula. The elementary grades are also the years in which we work to help our students begin the process of becoming responsible students through the development of strong work habits and study skills.  Resources such as physical education, art, Spanish, music, Accelerated Reader®, daily Bible instruction and weekly Chapel support the strong academic program provided for our elementary students.

Monitoring student growth and learning needs is of extreme importance to us here at Gateway Academy.  To this end, all of our elementary students participate annually in the nationally-normed TerraNova Achievement Test.  This assessment allows our teachers to administer benchmark testing, monitor growth and identify any specific learning gaps or needs in our student’s development.

Gateway Academy ultimately is built upon the cornerstone of a biblical perspective from which students learn to view the world and their role in it.  We are honored to partner with parents in the discipleship of their children and in the pursuit of academic excellence to equip them to serve God now and in the future.  Classrooms that feature leading technology, together with carefully selected curriculum, research-based instructional practices, and educational professionals called by God to Gateway are the backbone of Christian education at Gateway Academy.
